Mr. Keenan first became concerned about retirement plans because of the plight of teachers.  As participants in 403b plans, teachers are often shepherded into expensive annuities that hinder asset accumulation.  His article in Blue Ridge Business Journal helped to raise awareness in Roanoke County about the excessively expensive retirement plan for Roanoke County employees.

A more recent article in the BRBJ focused on the City of Lynchburg's 457 retirement plan.  That plan wastes participant assets on a confusing array of mutual funds.  The Virginia Retirement System offers the City a solid alternative that would allow employees to retain more of their retirement savings.

The firm is blessed to have Matthew Hutcheson as a friend and ally.  Mr. Hutcheson is a nationally recognized expert on qualified plans and an advocate for thousands of participants.  Sponsors appreciate his ethical compass in helping design virtually risk-free qualified plans.
